The aim of the course is to familiarize Students with the main way of energy conversion, which is the
combustion of fuels. The lecture will include an introduction to the methods of describing the phenomena and
processes occurring during the combustion of gaseous, liquid and solid fuels and an overview of the latest
trends in combustion technology. In addition, ways to use conventional and alternative fuels such as
hydrogen, ammonia and solid metallic fuels will be discussed. The basic constructions of burners and
combustion chambers used in energy production systems and transport will also be presented.
