
The course provides comprehensive training in university volunteering, aimed mainly at EURECA-PRO students and staff, as well as anyone interested in social participation, inclusion, and equality.
It is an online, asynchronous, and flexible course lasting 10 hours and worth 0.5 ECTS credits, with no previous knowledge or qualifications required.
Its main objective is to provide participants with the knowledge and practical tools needed to participate responsibly in volunteering activities, covering legal, organisational, ethical, and social aspects, as well as skills in communication, teamwork, inclusion, and social intervention.
Key topics include:
- The legal framework, rights, and responsibilities of volunteers in Spain.
- Different types of volunteering and their connection to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
- University volunteering at the University of León.
- Equality and gender awareness.
- Intergenerational volunteering and active ageing.
- Inclusive mentoring and educational support.
- Inclusive communication, empathy, and active listening.
- Ethics, boundaries, coordination, and volunteer self-care.
By the end of the course, participants will be able to understand the volunteering framework, apply communication and intervention skills, work effectively in teams, act ethically and inclusively, and transfer the competences gained to academic, professional, and personal contexts.
Assessment is continuous and formative, focusing on understanding the content, participation, practical application, and reflection on learning. The course is coordinated by Adelina Rodríguez Pacios and Beatriz Abella García, with professionals from the University of León’s Inclusion, Equality and Social Action Area, in collaboration with EURECA-PRO.
No previous knowledge or specific qualifications are required. The course is open to students and staff of EURECA-PRO, as well as members of the general public interested in university volunteering, social participation, inclusion, equality, and educational support.
Participants should ensure that the information provided in the registration form is accurate and complete. Once the pre-registration process has been completed, participants will receive confirmation and, where applicable, instructions for accessing the online course.
As the course is delivered online and asynchronously, participants may access the training materials and complete the activities flexibly during the established course period.
Completion of the course requirements and assessment activities will be necessary to obtain the corresponding 0.5 ECTS credits.
