EURECA-PRO PhD Journey 2026
Join us this November for an exciting opportunity with EURECA-PRO in our upcoming PhD Journey! Experience a week of mobility at EURECA-PRO partner universities, along with an enriching online training programme.
Selected applicants will have the unique opportunity to enhance their skills and broaden their research networks through collaboration with researchers from Technical University of Crete and Université de Lorraine. The on-site programme will take place simultaneously at the Technical University of Crete and Université de Lorraine, bringing together PhD students from different partner universities for a dynamic and research-oriented week of activities.

The colloquium is organised by the European University on Responsible Consumption and Production EURECA-PRO, focusing on current social, environmental, economic and engineering sciences along the raw material value chain – and cycle. The colloquium is intended to foster a conscious and inspiring discourse across these various disciplines, with a particular emphasis on responsible consumption and production in the sense of Sustainable Development Goal 12.
Thematic priorities include:
- Environmental Surroundings – Responsible management of our resources water and air
- Engineering – Sustainable Processing of Raw Materials, from Mining into Circular Economy
- Sustainable Materials and Products
- Economic costs and benefits of sustainable production and consumption
- Management tools for sustainable production and consumption
- Legal framework for responsible consumption and production
- Social Sciences – Consumption and its key role as one game changer
The colloquium provides students an opportunity to present, discuss and publish their research work and to obtain ideas for further research. Participants are invited to participate in a comprehensive programme, including a training course on excellence research for Sustainability and excursions to institutions and companies in a region renowned not only for its mining history but also for its high-levelled innovative strength.

Join us in Freiberg, Germany, from June 2–6, 2025, for the 19th Freiberg Colloquium of Young Researchers, presented by EURECA-PRO. This year’s focus: “Responsible Consumption and Production in the Use of the Earth’s Resources.” This event brings together young researchers to explore social, environmental, economic, and engineering sciences related to resource management, aligning with Sustainable Development Goal 12.
This is a space where students who participated in the 2022 PhD Journey can find the presentations that were delivered in the context of the PhD journey programme. In addition, within this space, participants may share, if desired, their poster presentations.
